About
Native to the western Mediterranean region, the shrubby gromwell (*Lithodora fruticosa*) is a low-growing, dense evergreen subshrub with woody stems that rarely exceed 50 centimetres in height. This hardy species adapts perfectly to poor, dry and calcareous soils, playing the role of ground cover and soil stabiliser in exposed areas within a food forest ecosystem. Its abundant blue flowering attracts a wide diversity of pollinating insects, promoting biodiversity and the overall health of the orchard.
