About

A deciduous tree native to Asia, related to the persimmon, of medium size and with dense foliage. It produces small, sweet fruits that ripen in late autumn, edible when fully ripe. In a food forest, it occupies the canopy layer and is also used as a rootstock for the cultivated persimmon.
