About
*Salvia officinalis* is a very hardy perennial subshrub of Mediterranean origin, characterised by grey-green leaves and a slightly woody structure. In a food forest, it is an excellent border and companion plant, attracting many pollinators during its flowering and releasing strong essential oils that help repel unwanted pests.
