About
Deciduous shrub with reddish branches in winter, common in European hedgerows and woodlands. Its white flowers attract numerous pollinators and the dark fruits feed birdlife, although they are not suitable for human consumption. In agroforestry systems, it occupies the shrub layer, serving as a hedge and shelter for beneficial wildlife.
It is harvested now — September is one of the harvest months.
