About
Native to the Mediterranean basin, rosemary is an extremely hardy, drought-tolerant evergreen shrub that prefers well-drained soils. In a food forest, it forms part of the shrub layer, where its essential oils help to repel pests and its early flowering attracts a wide diversity of pollinators. It is a valuable structural species for designing sustainable, biodiverse dryland systems.
