About

Small tree or shrub of the cherry genus, highly resistant to drought and adapted to calcareous soils. Produces small dark cherries whose aromatic seeds are used as a spice. In the food forest it functions in the lower tree layer and frequently serves as rootstock, attracting pollinators with its white blossom.
