About
Native to East Asia, Platycladus orientalis is a slow-growing evergreen conifer, displaying a shrubby to tree-like habit with a dense, conical crown. In a food forest, it serves a valuable structural role as a windbreak and protective hedge, helping to create favourable microclimates for more sensitive species. Its persistent foliage also provides continuous shelter for beneficial wildlife and aids in moisture retention within the ecosystem.
