About

Alopecurus pratensis is a perennial grass native to Europe and Asia, typically found in damp meadows and fertile soils. It grows in dense, erect tufts, displaying very soft cylindrical inflorescences that emerge in spring. In a food forest system, it is valued for its ability to cover the ground, prevent erosion and provide abundant biomass for creating mulch.
